Ireland - a black hole of despair when it comes to Car insurance or any other insurance

Just found an article on thejournal.ie about the Car Insurance Companies. Not even daring to go into details about the other ones. Guess what??!? We angrily started flipping the table. Why the fuck should we pay to get ripped off by you????

This morning, woke up, made my coffee and turn on the TV ( not a TV lover, but have my moments). First channel: Life insurance commercial, move on, second channel: Health insurance. Keep going. Insurance, insurance. What the fuck? Was the Insurance Hour Commercials and I didn't know?!? Is anyone else pissed off at how they operate? I don’t know much about other countries, however, Ireland is a black hole of despair when it comes to Car insurance or any other insurance.

When I came here, it was a mild cultural shock. Then like a normal person who enjoys traveling and being able to move around without waiting for the DART or LUAS, dealing with other crap,I bought a car. Not a new one, but a nice model that suits me. And that's how I start dealing with the Hollow-hearted, Greedy, Opportunistic, Day-Light Robbers aka Car Insurance Companies. Good thing I can control myself, otherwise I would need bail money.

They have legalized scam operation going on here, much like in the US I presume.

For example, because I am from European Union country, my driver’s licence is as valid as Irish one and it is illegal, to raise the premium for 20% and more on the basis that a driver does not have an Irish drivers licence.

This is nonetheless a standard practice for all insurance companies in Ireland. Unless you do your research and point out the fact that it is illegal to do so to the insurance broker on the phone, because you cannot get in touch with them face to face for obvious reasons, many would have their faces rearanged due to custemers that are scamed and lied to on daily basis.

I told the bloody bastard that he is lying, that he knows he is lying and that either he gives me a fair price or I will sue him personally, not the company, but him for lying to me and trying to cheat me.

I know they are all following company policy, and are reading from the script. However, most people work hard for their money and for insurance companies to be stealing money from honest people is something that pisses me off, this type of crazy unregulated wild Capitalism.

My first quote was over 3000 EURO for car insurance based on the fact that I never drove in Ireland before, as we all know they drive on the wrong side of the road. I got into a heated argument with the insurance broker over the day light robbery quote and when I pointed out their illegal activity, the quote rapidly fell down.

Got me thinking really, how corporations are running our lives. How we are driven into modern day slavery and how politicians, of course, are bought and paid for by the said corporations. There is no democracy. It is an illusion and I believe that one of the reasons for the state of the world as we see it now is that we have way too many goddamn professional politicians who never worked a day in their lives.

And before ending this post, this is the ad I want to see it tomorrow morning when I'll drink my coffee.

Till next time,
